Brenda Cooper
Fashion Stylist & Image Expert

Brenda Cooper is an Emmy-award winning fashion expert and image consultant. 
She is best known as co-host on the popular television shows E! Fashion
Emergency and Extreme Makeover and as costume designer on the hit series
The Nanny.  As one of the nation’s pre-eminent fashion gurus,
Brenda advises individuals and corporate executives about how to use fashion to
enhance their image and improve self-esteem.  She has been featured in numerous
national publications including In Style, Self, Allure, People Magazine,
The Los Angeles Times, The New York Post

Edwina Wilson Divins

Edwina Wilson Divins owns and manages a real estate portfolio of 180 beachfront
ocean view fully deeded condos and villas for short- and long-term vacation rental.
Previously she was a corporate attorney for more than twenty years managing labor,
employment, litigation and various other legal matters at Boeing, General Electric,
Kellogg Company and Domino’s Pizza. Edwina has received numerous commendations
for her service with the American Bar Association, National Bar Association, and the
Corporate Counsel Women of Color. Also, her business has been featured in national
media such as CNBC, New York Daily News and Essence magazine.



 
   

Michelle DiTondo
Senior Vice President, Human Resources
MGM Resorts International

Michelle DiTondo, MGM Resorts Senior Vice President of Human Resources, leads
the strategic development and implementation of the company’s people philosophy
and culture and oversees the Corporate Human Resources Department. A member
of the company’s executive operating committee, she also chairs the HR Leadership
Team.  Ms. DiTondo has been employed at MGM Resorts since 2006.  She has also
held human resources management positions at Caesars Entertainment, American
Express, First Security Corporation, and the Army & Air Force Exchange Service.



 
   

Elizabeth Gallagher

Gallagher Group International

Elizabeth Gallagher leads a global business marketing and public relations firm
where she develops and promotes Hispanic-owned businesses.  Previously, she
was president & CEO of SAVI Construction where she worked with clients such as
Donald Trump, MGM Resorts International and Caesars Entertainment.  She serves
on the board of the Latin Chamber of Commerce of Las Vegas and is a former
director of the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce where she advocated
for the economic, social, political, educational and cultural interests of Hispanic-owned
businesses in the U.S.



 
   

Catherine Flavin
Principal, Leadership Research Institute

Catherine Flavin, Principal, Leadership Research Institute, works as a coach and
researcher to help senior leaders across industries understand others’ perceptions
in an effort to drive improvements in work relationships and performance outcomes. 
She has also conducted work in women’s leadership and career advancement. 
Prior to LRI, she was a Director of Research at the Paul J. Aicher Foundation.  She
holds a master of arts degree in political science from the University of Connecticut
and an undergraduate degree in government from Franklin and Marshall College.



 
   

Julia Hubbel
President & CEO
The Hubbel Group

Julia Hubbel is an award-winning entrepreneur and journalist.  She is also a training
and organizational development specialist who has held corporate and consulting
positions at companies and organizations in the U.S., Australia, and New Zealand. 
She is a decorated disabled Vietnam-era veteran who served as Chief of Military
Protocol for the Jimmy Carter Presidential Inaugural in 1977.  Julia is the author of
WordFood: How We Feed or Starve Our Relationships, a radically fun new look at
interpersonal communications.  She is a graduate of the American University in
Washington, DC.   



 
   

Pat Landaker
Author & Entrepreneur

Pat Landaker is an award-winning author, speaker, certified women’s empowerment
coach, media host, and owner of Deeva Feeva LLC, the umbrella company for her
business imprints and publishing house.  She is the author of three books, and will
soon release a fourth book titled “The Self-Empowered Diva.” With more than 25 years
of public relations, marketing and publications experience, she has authored a national
newspaper column, written numerous printed articles and hosted a television variety show. 
She currently produces an empowerment workshop called Diva’s Boot Camp.



 
   

Marilyn D. Johnson

IBM Corporation

Marilyn Johnson develops global strategy to help IBM market its products and
services to businesses owned and operated by women.  She has extensive
experience in sales and marketing and in the information technology industry. 
Marilyn has held leadership positions with many organizations and has served
on the executive boards of the Asian & Pacific Islander American Scholarship
Foundation, National Council of Negro Women, American Airlines Marketing
Advisory Council and the Advisory Board for One World Theater in Austin, Texas. 
She has been awarded for her commitment to mentoring and coaching and is
recipient of the 1st Women of Color Conference Hall of Fame award.



 
   

Crystal Lee, MPH
Founder
United Natives, Inc.

Crystal Lee is the Founder of United Natives, a newly formed nonprofit organization
that will mentor tribal youth.  Launching this fall, the program has already been
recognized by former President Bill Clinton’s Global Initiative.  Born and raised on
the Navajo Reservation in Arizona, Lee now teaches multicultural health at the
University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV).  She is also co-chairwoman and North
American liaison of the United Nations Indigenous Youth Caucus. 



 
   

Jan-Ie Low
Managing Partner & CEO
Golden Catalyst

Jan-Ie Low is Managing Partner of Golden Catalyst, an events production firm. 
She has held executive-level positions in human resources management at
Fortune 500 companies such as AT&T Wireless and T-Mobile USA.  She is
recipient of numerous awards including the National Coalition of 100 Black
Women’s Madam C.J. Walker Award for business and community service
and the Women’s Chamber of Commerce of Nevada’s Young Athena
Awards for leadership.  In 2007, she was named Public Service Member of
the Year by the Las Vegas Asian Chamber of Commerce.  Jan-Ie earned an
undergraduate degree in business from the University of Washington.



 
   

Mary McElhattan
Author & Motivational Speaker

The author of Rocket Risks, Mary McElhattan is a certified business coach,
author, and public speaker. She has varied corporate experiences, including
having served as a chief financial officer who helped develop a small firm into
a multi-million enterprise.  The former television program host is also creator
and founder of Mai World Works™, a character development program currently
used in classrooms around the world.  Her recent book Rocket Risks offers
practical strategies to help overcome life challenges.




 
   

Janet Murguia
President & CEO
National Council of La Raza

Janet Murguia leads the National Council of La Raza (NCLR), the nation’s largest
Hispanic civil rights and advocacy organization.   She serves on the national boards
of the American Heart Association, Partnership for a Healthier America and the
Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility, where she is Chair.  She served
the administration of U.S. President Bill Clinton where she worked at the White House
as deputy director of legislative affairs.  Also, she was deputy campaign manager
and director of constituency outreach for the Gore/Lieberman presidential campaign. 
Janet holds degrees in journalism, Spanish and law.  She was awarded an honorary
doctor of humane letters degree from California State University in 2011.



 
   

Gail Perry-Mason

Gail Perry-Mason, Senior Director of Investments at Oppenheimer & Co. Inc., is a
bestselling author.  She is a recognized financial expert whose knowledge and expertise
is sought to educate audiences about investing and money management.  For more
than 20 years, Gail has focused on socially responsible investing.  Her clients have
included companies such as DaimlerChrysler, IBM and Wells Fargo. She was named
Community Ambassador by the Governor of Michigan, a result of her outstanding civic

Debra J. Nelson
Vice President, Corporate Diversity & Community Affairs
MGM Resorts International

Debra J. Nelson, Vice President of Corporate Diversity & Community Affairs at
MGM Resorts International, has held management positions at DaimlerChrysler
and various Mercedes-Benz companies where she helped introduce a new
automotive product to the global market and launched a national corporate
diversity initiative.  She has also developed and designed corporate public affairs
and philanthropy programs.  In Nevada, she founded the Diversity Professionals
Network and the Women of Color Conference. Her work has contributed to MGM
Resorts’ ranking on several prominent national lists for diversity best practices. 
She serves on several nonprofit boards and is recipient of numerous
professional and civic awards for leadership and service.  Global Gaming
Business magazine named her among its people to watch in 2010 and she is
an inductee of the Women’s Chamber of Commerce of Nevada’s Hall of Fame.



 
   

Tina Phyfer
Practice Administrator
Women’s Specialty Care

Tina Phyfer is Practice Administrator and Nurse Practitioner at Women’s Specialty
Care where she helps patients heal physically, emotionally and intellectually. 
With more than 20 years of direct patient care, she is a neonatal intensive care
nurse whose professional experiences influence her community service.  She
is a long-time board member of The Shade Tree Shelter, a facility that provides
safe shelter to homeless and abused women and children in crisis.  Most recently,
Tina was part of a medical team that assisted residents of Haiti immediately
following the devastating earthquake there on January 12, 2010.  She holds
dual degrees in advance practice nursing from the University of California
Los Angeles (UCLA) and the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV). 



 
   

Steve G. Schorr
Vice President Public and Government Affairs
Cox Communications

Steve Schorr serves as liaison to local, state and federal elected officials and
government bodies and directs all community, public affairs and media relations
efforts on behalf of Cox Las Vegas in Southern Nevada. He has been widely
recognized for his tireless and lengthy involvement with civic organizations,
youth groups and public service agencies and was recently honored with a
Lifetime Achievement Award by the U.S. Justice Department and the National
Center for Missing and Exploited Children as a result of his efforts to protect
children from abuse and abduction. Steve also was named Man of the Year by
Nevada Child Seekers for his lifetime efforts on behalf of youth. The former
broadcaster was also recently accepted as a Member of the National Academy
of Television Arts and Sciences and serves on the Council
of National Trustees of National Jewish Medical & Research Center.



 
   

Deborah Rosado Shaw
Entrepreneur & Author

Deborah Rosado is a critically acclaimed author, entrepreneur and international
speaker. Her book, “Dream BIG! – A Roadmap for Facing Life’s Challenges and
Creating the Life You Deserve” is distinguished as the first book authored by a
person of Hispanic descent to be published by a major publishing house in the
U.S.  Deborah has received many awards for her business acumen and
success including “Hispanic Businesswoman of the Year” by the National
Hispanic Business Group and “100 Most Successful Latinas in the U.S.” by
Hispanic Magazine.  She speaks regularly on topics related to personal
empowerment, diversity, business strategy and entrepreneurship, and
has been a keynote speaker and seminar leader at Fortune 500 companies and
national professional associations and institutions.  She is a graduate of
Barnard College.



 
   

Dr. Robin L. Smith
Best Selling Author and Psychologist

Dr. Robin L. Smith is a licensed psychologist, best selling author, ordained
minister and keynote speaker. She has authored several books including Lies
at the Altar - The Truth About Great Marriages, Inspirational Vitamins, and A
Guide To Personal Empowerment, whose forward was written by musician
Stevie Wonder. Dr. Smith has appeared on numerous national radio and
television news and entertainment programs including The Oprah Winfrey
Show, Larry King Live, The Today Show, Good Morning America, The Early
Show, MSNBC, and The Fox News Channel. She earned a Ph.D. in counseling
psychology from Temple University, a master’s degree from Eastern Baptist
Theological Seminary, and an undergraduate degree from LaSalle University.
She was awarded an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree from Palmer Theological
Seminary. Additionally, Dr. Smith participated in a two-year clinical program
where she earned a certificate in contextual family therapy. She has served on
the boards of Albert Einstein Medical Center, Belmont Hospital, and Eagleville
Hospital, a drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility in New Jersey, and the
advisory board of the Barristers' Association of Philadelphia.




 
   

Dr. Cathleen Swoody

Dr. Cathleen Swoody is an expert in coaching, leadership development, women’s
leadership, and employee engagement.  She has worked with clients across
a range of industries including health care, pharmaceuticals, financial services,
and professional services.  Prior to joining LRI, Cathleen worked as a human
resources consultant and talent selection expert in a Fortune 50 company.



 
   

Renée West

Renée West is President and Chief Operating Officer of Excalibur Hotel Casino
and Luxor Hotel & Casino.  Previously, she provided oversight of Mandalay Bay
Resort which featured three distinct hotel brands – Mandalay Bay, THEhotel
and Four Seasons.  Known for her ability to strategically align operations,
instill vision and improve profitability, West has enjoyed an extensive career
in the hospitality industry.  She also has held senior management positions at
Caesars Entertainment and Station Casinos and provided organizational
strategy design for a number of other organizations.  She is a board member
of the World Presidents Organization, Las Vegas Chapter, and is Chair of the
Culinary Training Academy in Las Vegas.  Among her many certifications and
degrees, she holds an honorary doctorate from Southern
Utah University.



 
   

Sandra Yancey

eWomenNetwork, Inc.

Sandra Yancey is the Chief Executive Officer of eWomenNetwork, a global
networking and professional development enterprise dedicated to helping
women succeed in business.  She is also an author, film producer and
philanthropist.  Sandra co-founded MyGLOW.Net, an international social
network for women and produced The GLOW Project, a film that has
impacted women all over the world by encouraging them to be purposeful
in all their endeavors.  She holds a master of science degree in organizational
development from The American University, Washington D.C., and a post-graduate
certification in organization and systems development from the prestigious
